Jason's Story
Jason Franzen is a devoted husband, father, community leader, and proud advocate for Delano’s future. For more than two decades, he and his wife Anna have built their life in this community, raising their family with values rooted in faith, hard work, and service.
Jason and Anna have been married for 21 years. Anna, who was born in Warsaw, Poland, works at Boston Scientific and shares Jason’s deep commitment to family and community. Together, they are raising two children who embody the spirit and promise of Delano’s next generation. Their son Filip, 18, will graduate from Delano High School this year and is an aspiring farmer who works alongside his cousins and uncle Joe Neaton at the family’s Neaton Brothers farm. Their daughter Zofia, 13, attends Mt. Olive School in Delano, where she is an active athlete competing in volleyball and golf while also exploring her interest in theater.
Jason’s connection to Wright County runs deep. On his father’s side, the Schumacher family has roots in the area going back generations, including an ancestor who served with the 7th Minnesota Regiment at the Battle of Nashville during the Civil War. On his mother’s side, the Gabrelcik family has farmed local land since the 1870s.
Service to the community has long been a family tradition—through township leadership, involvement with the Knights of Columbus, and active participation at St. Mary’s of Częstochowa Catholic Church.
Throughout his life, Jason has believed that strong communities are built by people willing to step up and serve. He has done so himself as a former City Council member, through service on local boards, active participation in the Republican Party, and years of hands-on community involvement.
Jason’s personal experiences have shaped his outlook. He has traveled extensively across the United States, visiting most states, and has taken his family to Europe many times. These journeys have deepened his appreciation for what makes America and specifically his hometown, special.
Today, Jason is running for Mayor of Delano to protect what makes the city special while responsibly preparing for its future. This includes strengthening families, supporting small businesses, maintaining fiscal responsibility, and ensuring Delano remains a safe, thriving place to live, work, and raise the next generation.
